Xavier Caseras

great thinking coaches !!!

Thanks to the good thinking of our coaches, we trained in a great 3G pitch this Sunday, which was welcome by players, mums & dads, and their washing machines !!! All went back home, cold, wet, but as clean as they came over for training. Also, the fact that the kids were not sinking into the mud and carrying 4kg of extra-weight in their boots help with the drills and practise. If the weather stays like this for longer - and let's face it, we live in Wales ... - we might book more training sessions in Leckwith; so, that our players don't miss out any fun, but we keep them on the loop hoping for the dry to come over us at some point before the summer !!!!!!

Well done to all the boys last week. I thought the training session went well and we got through a lot more than would have been possible on a grass pitch. The lads were getting a bit cold towards the end but in the main I think they enjoyed it.

A big thank you to Xavier for finding and booking the pitch and to Pat, Steve, Neil and Rhys who helped to run the session. It's so much easier to keep the kids in check with 5 pairs of eyes...

Pentyrch this weekend. We'll need to be at our best and to remember the tackling and passing skills we've been practicing this season. It's due to be cold, possibly a little wet and maybe even a touch of frost on the ground. We will make a call on the morning as to whether the pitches are playable but please make sure the boys are wrapped up warm and also that they have something clean and dry to put on afterwards to go into the clubhouse. Boys, you should be starting to pack your own bags now. Every week you should be bringing clean dry clothes to put on after you've played. This will help you to recover quicker from any knocks and bruises as well as keeping your parents cars clean!

If there is a touch of frost but the ground is not hard, there is a risk of small cuts and abrasions from the small ice particles in the soil. If the boys have leggings and long sleeved thermals then it's probably wise to wear them. Gloves are optional, once they are wet they don't really keep the hands warm so it's a personal preference.

See you all Sunday
