Eighteen boys braved the weather and trained today, and what a difference that makes !!! The coaches took them through plenty of drills tackling and carrying the ball. The boys paid pently of attention and worked really hard. They all deserve a REALLY WELL DONE today. All that hard work during the drills showed up during the game that they played at the end of session, and after all that effort they were not prepare to take any prisoners !!!! We saw a cracking tackle from Harry Pollit on Big Luca, who was advancing towards him like a real missile at full speed. We also saw Marcel stamping Oli against the fence, but rather than complaining this stood up and kept chasing the ball as if that wall was made of fluffy pillows !! We saw quite a few players that so far had been a bit shy on the tackle to take the plunge today and bravely dive into it. We saw plenty of passing, lining up, players thinking on building up a second line of attack when running out of space (or so I am told), dummy runs... from a parent perspective, worthwile defying the cold and the wind to see that impressive step forwards from the boys. Let's hope that all that hard work shows up next time we have a league game, whenever the weather allows that to be.
