This Sunday we welcomed Barry and Clwb at Llandaff grounds for a round robin. Our official fixture was Barry, so we will count this one as a “lost” since we lost to Barry by one try.
However, you plaid great and you were a perfect match for them. Remember, Barry is a strong well-drilled side, and had to work really hard to get the win. You did never lose hope, never dropped your arms, and kept fighting like lions up to the end. Really, really, really well done. You plaid some wonderful rugby as well. It is almost a pity that the season is coming to an end, because it is clear that you are growing into a strong team. These days there is far more running in support of the ball carrier, offloading at the right time, sharing the burden of tacking and hitting the rucks and more importantly cheering for your team and standing shoulder by shoulder against difficulties.
Prove of your improvement throughout the season is that Clwb used to be a good match for us, and our games were always very competitive. This time round, though, you completely outplayed them. You were more of a team, rather than individualities. It does not matter whether the opposition has one, two or three great players, they will never beat a team of 10 that stands and works together. This is what you did. Despite Clwb having some good players, they could not beat the Llandaff pack.
A warm team cuddle for Marcel, who injured his knee against Barry and will miss the last game of the season (he is gutted). It is 3 players that we have now lost to injury recently: Henry, Dan & Marcel… perhaps it is good time to get you all a rest.
