enjoy the summer (wherever you'll go to find it)

Thanks to Rhiwbina for playing us on our last day of the season. Also thanks to Saltash for visiting us from Cornwall and giving us two games; we hope they enjoyed their tour to South Wales.
It's been a bit of an hectic season, with plenty of cancellations due to bad weather and poor pitch conditions, but we have managed 19 Sundays of rugby games, of which you managed to come victorious in 12 and only lost 3, with 4 ties. Quite impressive !!! The improvement from previous years has been more than noticeable, and you all are growing and developing into very competent rugby players. Well done boys.
Well done also to the parents, for their stoicism braving the Welsh winter to bring their children to the fields to witness them battering and being battered... well done to all of you as well.
Special thank you as well to our coaches, for their commitment and dedication, and let's be honest, their infinite patience... I do not know how they manage... We really appreciate your work with the boys.
Finally, thanks to Ron, Cath and Endaf, who are the ones that really make things happen for us in Llandaff RFC.
Last Sunday finished with a simulation of what's to come next season: 15-a-side, full pitch. This will require a re-organisation of our team, a better work on positioning, new skills being developed, etc and therefore it will bring few important changes in the way we manage the team. As it was advanced in an email few weeks ago the major change is that we will start training during the week (Fridays). We know that for most if you it will be difficult to fit yet another activity in your family diaries, but as you probably appreciated Sunday, U12s rugby will be raugher and more aggressive. Some boys are starting to grow into young adolescents, and tackling fast moving >5.5 feet >10 stones opponents requires not only bravery, but technique. Therefore, training will be an important aspect of safety (learning to tackle/ruck correctly, will help preventing injuries).
In any case, it's been a great season and we wish you all a great and well deserved summer break. We'll see you all at the clubhouse on Sunday the 3rd of June for our Presentation day.
